- Smart navigator for forestry and agriculture
Persistent periods of drought and falling groundwater levels mean that processes require a rethink in forestry and agriculture. Soil moisture levels influence a large number of decisions here. Our self-sufficient, robust and easy-to-install sensors make it easier than ever to measure soil moisture, temperature and microclimate, and to use these measurements to make practical everyday decisions.
The smart climate navigator combining ONE + SOIL + APP
The CLIMAVI Microclimate system is made up of the IoT transmitter unit, the climavi soil sensor and an app for targeted use in the field, e.g. in the agricultural sector.
The CLIMAVI ONE is an innovative wireless box that records environmental data and transmits it directly to the CLIMAVI app via modern wireless standards. It measures the air temperature, humidity and solar radiation at varying heights within the stock.
In addition to the CLIMAVI SOIL soil moisture sensor, other sensors such as for wind, precipitation, etc. can be integrated via two SDI-12 connections.
The system is powered by two high-performance solar cells that supply a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (3.8 V / 2.8 Ah). This means that the CLIMAVI ONE is completely self-sufficient and no batteries need to be replaced.
Set-up is extremely simple: After installation, the sensor is activated using a QR code. Further adjustments can be made easily using the free CLIMAVI app.
The CLIMAVI SOIL is a newly developed soil sensor for precisely monitoring soil moisture and the crop microclimate. It records key parameters such as soil temperature, soil moisture and permittivity in a substrate volume at three measuring depths (15 cm x 5 cm volume each) with a single device.
Thanks to its flexible interfaces, it can be easily connected to SDI-12-based IoT nodes such as the CLIMAVI ONE (also via UART or Modbus). Manual or automated calibration using our CLIMAVI software. This software offers a comprehensive range of tools for mapping soil parameters, calculating volumetric water content and creating threshold-based alarms for irrigation, disease protection or frost warning.
Installation is quick and easy with the specially developed installation tool.
The CLIMAVI app is an intelligent climate navigator for support with irrigation management. It combines the power of climavi IoT sensors with an environmental AI that provides irrigation requirements, frost monitoring and forecasts. The free app is based on an open-source IoT platform, and offers security and flexibility. Available as a mobile and web app, it provides access to all data via a fast API service, controls IoT sensor networks, and supports devices from other manufacturers. Features such as threshold adjustment, access management and data sharing make it easier to use and share weather and sensor data.
Agvolution recommends one weather station per farm and one microclimate sensor per main crop type. Where there are very large distances between the fields or significant topographical differences, additional sensors can improve forecasts and simplify decisions. - Additional information:
