The PTA process is a high-performance thermal coating process. A high-energy plasma arc melts the surface of the base material. At the same time, the metal powder is introduced into the arc where it too is melted. PTA enables coating with high-alloy materials such as tungsten carbide-reinforced nickel-based alloys or cobalt-based alloys.
