ARGUS breakaway couplings enable leak oil-free connection or disconnection of filled lines.
The coupling consists of a fixed and a loose half. The two halves are connected by screwing them together with a hand nut or hand wheel up to the stop. Valves in both halves open against spring force. When disconnecting, the valves close before the coupling halves separate. This prevents air from entering the lines. The coupling process can be carried out by hand at a pressure of up to approx. 20 bar.
Tools can also be used for connection or disconnection at higher pressures. The coupling halves can also be pulled apart. This prevents the line system from rupturing under tensile stress, which prevents the medium from leaking. Because of the breakaway stroke, the fixed half must be connected to a hose line or a spring-loaded pipe.
When disconnected, the coupling halves are protected against dirt and damage with the parts specified under accessories.
Materials:
• Housing and internal parts made of galvanised steel, valve sleeve in the loose half made of brass
• Breakaway housing DN 6 to 10 made of steel, from DN 12 (13) made of malleable cast iron, patented Cr-III zinc coating with special passivation for maximum surface protection
• Seals: NBR
