The ball hitch can be installed directly on the frame parts or on the trailer towing device by means of a welded connection. Welding must be carried out by the chassis or drawbar manufacturer in accordance with the applicable regulations and checked when these vehicles or vehicle parts are accepted. The welded connection shown as an example in the installation sketch is designed to meet the strength requirements. When producing the welded connection, it should be noted that the ball hitch shaft must be preheated to a temperature of 250 °C before welding begins, and longitudinal and face fillet welds on the coupling point side must be welded in one operation to avoid notch effects. The requirements of quality class B according to DIN EN 25817 apply to the weld seam quality.
