Boom Pilot - automatic GPS boom section control from TeeJet - is a useful extension to a GPS system. Based on the GPS data, the BoomPilot automatically switches the boom sections during field spraying or fertiliser spreading. Starting with the field boundary circuit, the BoomPilot creates an internal map of the plot or the area already treated . Once a boom section reaches this area, the system switches it off with a high level of accuracy. The boom section is switched on just as accurately when an untreated area is reached. This automatic process is helpful at headlands, but also at end tracks and wedges. The reduction of overlaps ensures clear savings in plant protection products and time. The environment is protected, the application periods are significantly extended and work becomes much easier for the driver.
